ඔබේ ඉ-තැපැල් ගිණුමට Signing in වීම සහ
signing out වීම
මෙයත් වැදගත් කරුණක්. විශේෂයෙන් ඔබ පොදු පරිගණකයක් භාවිතා කරන්නේ නම්...උදාහරණයක් විදියට ඔබ Internet café එකකින් නැත්නම් යාලුවෙකුගේ හෝ වෙනත් අයෙකුගේ නැත්නම් ආයතනයක පරිගණකයකින් ඔබේ ගිණුමකට log වන්නේ නම්, ඔබ අනිවාර්යයෙන්ම signing out වීම සහ ඔබ භාවිතා කළ වෙබ් බ්‍රවුසරය වැසීම (close) සිදු කළයුතුයි.
Gmail වල නම් මේ සඳහා ආරක්‍ෂිත පියවරක් ලෙස 2-Step verification හඳුන්වාදී තිබෙනවා. ඉන් ඔබේ ජංගම දුරකතනයට ලබාදෙන රහස් අංකයක් මගින් මුරපදය සහ ඔබේ ඇතුළුවීම තහවුරු කිරීමක් සිදු කෙරෙනවා.
2. තිරය අගුළු දැමීම
ඔබේ පරිගණකයේ/ලැප්ටොප්
පරිගණකයේ හෝ
දුරතකනයේ කටයුතු
අවසන් වූපසු එහි screen
එක lock කරන්න මතක තබා ගන්න. එසේම එහි sleep
mode එකට ගියවිට automatically screen
එක lock වෙන විදියට settings සකසන්න. ඉන් අනවශ්‍ය පුද්ගලයන් ඔබේ
තොරතුරු භාවිතා
කිරීම හෝ එම භාණ්ඩ නැතිවු අවස්ථාවක ඔබේ
තොරතුරු පිටතට
යාම වැලැක්වීමට උදව්
වේ.
3. ආරක්‍ෂිත ජාල(network) භාවිතාකරන්න

මාර්ගගත (online) බැංකු කටයුතු සහ ඔබේ ණය කාඩ්පත භාවිතාකර මිලදී ගැනීම් (shopping) අනාරක්‍ෂිත හෝ පොදු ජාල (public networks) හරහා සිදු නොකරන්න.

ඔබේ වෙබ් බ්‍රවුසරයේ address
bar එක - එහි ඇති URL එක සත්‍ය එකක්ද බලන්න. ඇතැම් URL ඇත්තම URL වගේ අකුරක් දෙකක් වෙනස් කරල/මාරුකරල අපිව රවටන්න හදල තියෙනවා

ඒවගේම address
bar එක පටන් ගන්න තැන https:// ලෙස සඳහන් වන්නේද බලන්න. මෙයින් කියවෙන්නේ ඔබේ දත්ත වඩා ආරක්‍ෂිතව යැවෙන බවයි. ඉන් ඔබේ දත්ත අතරමගදී සොරකම් කිරීම වළකනවා.
4. නාඳුනන්නන් විසින් ලබාදෙන ත්‍යාග /මුදල් ආදිය ගැන අවධානයෙන් ඉන්න!
ඔබට සමහර ඉ-තැපැල් ලිපි ලැබෙන්න පුළුවන් ඔබට යම් ත්‍යාගයක් හෝ ලොතරැයියක් දිනූ බවට නැත්නම් ඔබට යම් වෙබ් අඩවියක millionth
visitor ලෙසට සුභපතමින්..සහ ත්‍යාග මුදල ලබා ගැනීමට යම් පෝරමයක් සම්පූර්ණ කර එවන ලෙස.
එසේත් නැත්නම් පහසුවෙන් මුදල් ඉපයීමේ ක්‍රම/රැකියා ලබාදීම සඳහා (“get rich quick working from your home in just two
hours a day!”) විස්තර ලබා දෙන ලෙස.. මෙම ඉ-තැපැල් බොහෝවිට වංචනිකයන්ගේ උපක්‍රම. ඒපිළිබඳ අවධානයෙන් ඉන්න. ඒවගේම එම පෝරම පිරවීමේදී ඔබේ තොරතුරු වංචනික ලෙස ලබාගන්නත් පුළුවන්. ඔබ එහි ඇති “submit” බොත්තම එබීමට පෙර දත්ත පුරවන අවස්ථාවේදී උනත් ඔබේ තොරතුරු ලබා ගැනීමට හැකියාව තිබෙනවා.
5. අන්තර්ජාලයේ මිලදීගැනීම් කරනවිට...
ඔබ අන්තර්ජාලය හරහා මිලදීගැනීම් සිදු කරන්නේ නම් පරිස්සමින්! ඔබ මිලදීගන්නා භාණ්ඩය මෙන්ම එහි වෙළෙන්දා/වෙළඳ ආයතනය පිළිබඳවත් ඔබ අවධානය යොමු කරන්න. විශේෂයෙන් යම් භාණ්ඩයක්/සේවාවක් සඳහා සාමාන්‍ය වෙළඳ පොලේ පවතින මිලට වඩා ඉතාමත්ම අඩු මිලකට ලබාදෙන්නන් පිලිබඳව මිලදී ගැනීමක් සිදු කිරීමට පෙර සොයා බලන්න. සාමාන්‍යයෙන් මිල අඩු නොකරන භාණ්ඩ/සේවා නොමිලයේ හෝ ඉතා විශාල මිල අඩුකිරීම් (90% වැනි) යටතේ ලබා දෙන්නේ නම් ඒවා වංචනික අදහසකින් ක්‍රියාත්මක වන්නේ විය හැකියි.
Gmail භාවිත කරන්නන් සඳහා එම ආයතනය මගින් ඇතැම් මෙවැනි සැකකටයුතු ඉ-තැපැල් ලිපි සඳහා අනතුරු ඇඟවීම් කර ඇත්නම් එවැනි ඉ-තැපැල් වලට පිලිතුරු යැවිමේදී වඩාත් සැළකිලිමත්වන්න.
එලෙසම සාමාන්‍යයෙන් වෙළඳ අඩවි වල වෙළෙන්දාගේ විශ්වාසනීතයත්වය පිළිබඳ සහතිකයක් හෝ අනුමැතියන් දක්වා තිබෙනවා. ඔබ මිලදී ගන්නා වෙළඳ ආයතනය/වෙළෙන්දාගේ විශ්වාසනීයත්‍වය පිළිබඳ සහතිකයක් ඇත්දැයි සොයා බලන්න. එසේ නැත්නම් එම වෙළඳ ආයතනය පිළිබඳ ඇති reviews නිරීක්‍ෂනය කරන්න.

Cybersafety Tips (Part 2)
1. Signing in and signing out
But when using public computers
like in a cybercafé, a friend’s
computer or library,
remember that you may still be signed into any services you’ve been using even
after you close the browser. Gmail has introduced 2-Step verification system to help keep your account safe in this matter.
It verifies your login via a secret code sent your mobile number.
2. Lock your screen or device
You should always lock your
screen when you finish using your computer, laptop or phone. For added
security, you should also set your device to automatically lock when it goes to
sleep. This is especially important for phones or tablets, which are more
likely to get misplaced and discovered by people you don’t want to access your
information, and home computers that are in shared spaces.
3. Use secure networks

Avoid
doing important activities like banking or shopping over public networks.

First,
look at the address bar in your browser to see if the URL looks real. You
should also check to see if the web address begins with https:// – which
signals that your connection to the website is encrypted and more resistant to
snooping or tampering. Some browsers also include a padlock icon in the address
bar beside https:// to indicate more clearly that your connection is encrypted
and you are more securely connected.

4. Beware of strangers bearing gifts
A
message is probably up to no good if it congratulates you for being a website’s
millionth visitor, offers a tablet computer or other prize in exchange for
completing a survey or promotes quick and easy ways to make money or get a job
(“get rich quick working from your home in just two hours a day!”). If someone
tells you you’re a winner and asks you to fill out a form with your personal
information don’t be tempted to start filling it out. Even if you don’t hit the
“submit” button, you might still be sending your information to scammers if you
start putting your data into their forms.
5.
Do your research
When
shopping online, research the seller and be wary of suspiciously low prices
just like you would if you were buying something at a local store. Scrutinize
online deals that seem too good to be true. No one wants to get tricked into
buying fake goods. People who promise normally non-discounted expensive
products or services for free or at 90% off likely have malicious intent. If
you use Gmail, you may see a warning across the top of your screen if you’re
looking at an email their
system says might be a scam – if you see this warning, think twice before
responding to that email.
Many online shopping platforms have
trusted merchants/sellers programs. These sellers typically have a visible
stamp of approval on their profiles. Make sure that the stamp or certificate is
legitimate by reviewing the shopping platforms’ guidelines. If the platform
doesn’t offer a similar program, take a look at the number of reviews and the
quality of reviews on the seller.
